McCall Optimist Club gets noticed by Stephen Colbert

On June 17, 2016, the McCall Optimist Club got a little national attention from Aaron Paul and the Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert. During its Community Calendar segment, viewers were invited to attend a meeting on Tuesdays, 7:00 a.m. at the Pancake House. That's right Stephen - there are no pessimists in town.

Let this clip serve as a reminder that you never know who is reading the community calendar in your town. Be sure you're advertising and inviting new members to visit and join, right here, right now.

Let's show our Optimist Club pride!

Are you proud to be an Optimist? Then say so!

Let's show our pride by creating contact advertisements for our Optimist Clubs. You can use them on your website, in the newspaper, on your email signature, on your Facebook page.

The contact ads will tell your friends and acquaintances that you belong to a positive community group that performs service on a local and international level. And if they want to join, they'll have your email and phone number handy so that they can call you right then and there.

Larry Blackburn uses his as a theater screen ad for his business. It appears once per month at the Free Movies in the Park with the Middleton Area Optimist Club. In addition to supporting the club, the advertisement provides mutual credibility for his business and the Optimist Club.

If  you would like a personalized contact ad, please send a photo and your contact information to Linda Vaught Jackson and she will return your ad to you via email.

Lebanon Optimists reach out to the community

As I've mentioned here before, the Optimist Club of Lebanon, Oregon is growing. Members say that the reason for their growth is that they are truly optimistic. At its meetings, members share good news and encourage each other to personal and professional success.

I'm sure that reason is true, but there is a little more to it and this post that I found on its Facebook page today demonstrated how they are reaching out to the community and sparking interest in their club. Today, they are at the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce Biz Expo. They are explaining their projects, describing how they benefit the community and sharing that optimism that makes an Optimist Club the best choice for volunteering that there is.
