#OptimistHero

March is for members. At least that is what I've always thought. March is the time that we come out of our winter hibernation and host the Optimist International Oratorical Contest and begin planning for end-of-the-schoolyear activities. It's when we get our broadest publicity in our communities because we are out and about doing good deeds.

Optimist International has come up with an idea that will allow Optimist Clubs to target market membership to certain segments in our communities. It is called Honoring our Heroes. For the next four months - March, April, May and June - your Optimist Club can add three heroes, pay their membership dues, and then get three additional heroes at no charge. In other words, it is a buy-one, get-one free deal.

For this purpose, heroes are defined as educators, active duty military personnel or veterans and first responders. Click to hear about the Honoring our Heroes promotion directly from International President Dave Bruns.
