Sam Mohan of Chilliwack, BC named Las Vegas winner

Membership Chair Dick Brodie reported in on Sunday morning, March 24, 2013 that the membership raffle for a trip to Las Vegas has been drawn.

Congratulations to Sam Mohan of the Optimist Club of Chilliwack, BC. 

Since October 2012, Sam has sponsored two members to the Chilliwack Optimist Club. A very busy member, she can be seen in the picture (right) collecting a check made out to the Chilliwack Optimist Club in the amount of $10,000. This award came from the Station 8050 Construction for Kids Fundraiser in March 2012.

According to Dick, the draw was made at a Coquitlam Optimist Club meeting. Sixty-four new members were added to the PNW District Optimist Clubs during the contest time. Top recruiting clubs included:

• Twin Falls - 19 new members
• Lebanon - 8 new members
• Albany - 6 new members
• Middleton Area - 5 new members

The top recruiters and number of members sponsored were:

• Archie Goodman, Twin Falls - 4
• Gordon Vogt, Albany - 4
• Barry Knoblich, Twin Falls - 3 

Thank you to all and to many more who sponsored one or two members into their club. Our ability to serve our communities comes from our members. Simply put, new members help Optimist Clubs do more.
