The PNW Optimist District Convention will take place one week from now in Chilliwack, British Columbia. They will gather at the Coast Chilliwack Hotel on August 16-19, 2012.
This is the time when Optimist Club leaders come together to elect new governor for the 2013-2014 year, but it is also the time when our incoming governor for 2012-2013 is inducted and our current governor inspires those assembled to do even more to end the administrative year on a high note and establish good momentum for the coming year. It's not too late to register to join Governor Bill French and Governor-elect Larry Blackburn for this important meeting.
New officers will receive an orientation to their positions and Dallis Winsor, President of the new Kermodei Optimist Club of Terrace, BC will discuss the plans for expanding optimism in northern BC. See the complete program here: PNW District Convention 2012 Program.
Ron Huxley, Optimist International President-elect, will join the PNW District as the International President's Representative. Ron's distinguished career with Optimist Clubs began as an Honor Club president in 1985-86. He's been actively involved at the club, district and international level since that time.
