Bruce Pflaumer of the Issaquah Optimist Club has reported that they are planning two, maybe three, Bike Safety Fairs for June of this year. The confirmed dates and locations are:
June 12th, Issaquah Valley Elementary School
June 13th, Newport Heights Elementary School
The club is also hoping to have another Bike Safety Fair on June 26 at another location.
Bruce wrote, "So as you can see it’ll be a busy June 2010 for our club. Last year we had more than 1,100 people in attendance to our (2) day event, serving over 350 kids. So providing helmets for that many kids, and teaching them safety rules of the road, we saved over 350 lives. It’s a good feeling to know that you’re making a difference. We’re also still serving the local food-bank the third Tuesday of every month from 5p-7pm."
Thanks for the update Bruce! We love hearing what is happening in your community. Yes, you are making a difference.
